Some might say Rock n Roll never died, it just passed out, slumped at end of the bar bloated, and snoring loudly...nevertheless, the turn of the century saw Rock music explode back to life with a bevy of new faces that would shape the sounds of things to come...
Around about the same time Angelo was pissing his time away in London, and started fumbling around with a camera, taking it along with him on all his adventures. Living in a Rock n Roll mecca means you are constantly being bombarded with the latest and greatest in quality live acts from both the mainstream and the underground, and it was during these formative years Angelo was lucky enough to witness and photograph some of Rocks greatest heroes creating their legacy in Rock music history.
Angelos happiest memory, that is apart from his beloved Liverpool FC winning the Champions League, is exchanging bodily fluids with the almighty Guitar Wolf front row centre at Londons garage, and miraculously coming away with a cracking photo souvenir.
From this peak, life has been a downward spiral having had his live images published by the likes of NME, Q, Flux magazine,Vice,Rolling Stone and shot portraits for acts on the Warner, Sony BMG,EMI, Capitol and Domino labels. His live music shots were also exhibited in the Lee jeans Carnaby st flagship store during 2004. Angelo has also covered a variety of events that include London fashion week, Glastonbury Festival, Reading Leeds festival, Notting Hill carnival,The Big Chill and counts amongst his clients Lee jeans, Wrangler,BBC, and Red Bull.
In addition Angelo has been regularly involved in the international Hip Hop scene covering such events as the Red Bull International Beat Battle 05, Red Bull Breakmasterz, and the DMC Technics World championships.
Angelo recently returned to Australia in late 05 and has found a niche as a portrait photographer with a unique style. Angelo shoots in a variety of formats the most distinct being the panoramic, a traditional landscape format he has adapted to his portrait style. His style uses digital procedures to display a variety of traditional darkroom aesthetics. So far he has been published in Rolling Stone, Summer Winter,Adnews,Cosmopolitan,Jmag,Yen,Dumbofeather,FHM and Hot press, and has also worked on such events as Sydney Fashion week,The Big Day Out, The Easter Show and Semi-permanent Arts Convention.
